Packing for Portugal

Happy New Year Everyone near and far! We’ve been silent for a while, but it is mostly because of planning our new year tours. Soon we’ll visit Portugal and hope to keep you updated on our adventures there.

It’s early January 2023 and being almost exactly three years since we last left Canadian shores (fond memories of Morocco stay with us), we’re finally ready and able to once again jet off for a month. As usual on our international trips, we limit our possessions to those that can be accommodated in carry on luggage only. We usually attain our goal with two carry on-sized suitcases and two small day-backpacks or as it is the case now one backpack and Diana’s purse.

With the current messy situations at airports worldwide this is even more practical. What better than breezing through customs (if there is such a thing) and heading towards your first accommodation without waiting for hours to pick up luggage and wondering if it actually arrived.  For the old areas of Lisbon where we’ll be staying, it is actually highly recommended to travel light. Streets are steep and narrow with some being pedestrian only. Stairs to the upper floors are steep and narrow, too.  We had a post some time ago with a list of what we pack, so this time decided to create a video. These two carryon suitcases have traveled around the world for months.
